LEGAL AID CELL
Brief:-
The Legal Aid Cell has been a part of Ajmal Law College since its inception in 2018. The aim of the legal aid clinic is to provide free access to justice to the needy, the unprivileged and marginalized people of the society. The clinic proved to be one of the best methods of learning experience by transmitting the theoretical knowledge from class room to harsh realities of the society. And the students are actively engaged in the cell as volunteers and Para-Legal Volunteer’s under the District Legal Services Authority, Hojai.
OBJECTIVE OF LEGAL AID CELL
1. To provide services to the poor and weaker sections of the society.
2. To provide inexpensive local machinery for handling legal services of basic nature like legal advices, drafting petitions, notices, replies and other documents of legal importance.
3. To resolve disputes of local people through mediation and conciliation and there by preventing the disputes from reaching Courts.
4. To impart Clinical as part of practical training.

9th November, 2022 | NATIONAL LEGAL SERVICES DAY | Under the AEGIS of NALSA as a part of A PAN INDIA CAMPAIGN, “District Legal Services Authority, Hojai” in association with “Legal Aid Cell, Ajmal Law College” organized a workshop on the topic ” Right to Free Legal Aid and Victim Compensation Schemes ” on the occasion of “NATIONAL LEGAL SERVICES DAY” The program was attended by Mr. Saleh Ahammad, Secretary DLSA, Hojai, Advocate Sahana Begum Choudhury and Faculty members of Ajmal Law College. Mr Saleh Ahammad, spoke on the topic “Victim Compensation Scheme” and Advocate Sahana Begum Choudhury spoke on the topic “Right to Free Legal Aid”. Around 150 audience were present in the program. | |
22nd October,2022 | AN ORIENTATION PROGRAM | An Orientation and Interaction Session on F.T. Proceedings organized by “All India Lawyer’s Union, Hojai District Committee” in association with ” Legal Aid Cell, Ajmal Law College. Around 210 students were present in the program. Adv. A. R. 20th April, 2022 | LEGAL AID CAMP | Legal Aid Camp on “Physical Disability” organized by Legal Aid Cell,Ajmal LawCollege.Around 200 persons turned up in the camp, their documents were properly filed and the same will be forwarded to DLSA, Hojai. | |
10th December,2021 | HUMAN RIGHTS DAY | WORKSHOP ON“ FOURTH GENERATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND THE JUDICIAL APPROACH” Organized by Legal Aid Cell and IQAC, Ajmal Law College In Collaboration With DistrictLegal Services Authority, Hojai,The Chief Guest of the program was Honorable former Justice of Guwahati High Court, B.K.Sharma along with other eminent personalities like Secretary of DLSA, Hojai Mr. Saleh Ahammad and the Director of Ajmal Foundation, Dr. Khasrul Islam and the General Manager of Ajmal Foundation, Dr. MRH Azad. The Chief Guest delivered a speech on “The loop holes in judiciary as well as other concepts of law.” | |

17thSeptember,2021 | LEGAL AID CAMP | Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority(NALSA), District Legal Services Authority, Hojai in collaboration with Legal Aid Cell, Ajmal Law College organized a Legal Aid Camp in respect of PRE-LITIGATION & LEGAL ADVICE TO THE COMMON PEOPLE at Ajmal Law College, Hojai. Around 350 people were present and registered their names. | |
