INFRASTRUCTURE
Ajmal Law College which was established in the year 2018 is a well-designed and spacious academic campus with all required facilities. With its well qualified faculty members and quality education the college attracts students from almost all districts of Assam, North Eastern States and other parts of the country. The Institution has well-furnished classrooms and provides for the facility of smart class rooms as well. It alsoconsists a library Which has a well-stocked collection of books comprising of more than 1500 textbooks, 600 reference books, 300 journals, periodicals and magazines.
Moot Court
The term Moot Court basically implies a replica of a legal court, by making pre-trial preparations and letting them have an experience on trial proceedings. Moot court as per BCI rules under part I, provides to consist of 30 marks. Every student will be made to participate in at least 3 Moot courts on (in) a year with 10 marks, for each assigned problem and it will be evaluated for 5 marks for written submission and 5 marks for oral advocacy. It is also popularly known as Mock Court. Herein students themselves act like Advocates, presenting their arguments and evidences etc. Mooting allows the students to practice the art of advocacy and the College lays great emphasis on it as it equips the students for their future profession. Library
Keeping in mind the importance of a well-equipped library in a legal institution, the College has given the library top priority in funding allocations. The College library has a variety of books – both relating to Law as well as the Social Sciences. There are more than 2000 books and journals amounting up to several lakhs of rupees. New books are continuously added to this impressive collection. A law library is truly the treasure house for a law student and an indispensable component of Ajmal Law College, catering to the reading and research needs of both students and faculty members. Established in 2018, the library functions as an integrated knowledge resource centre for the college. It houses a rich collection including textbooks, reference books, journals, periodicals and magazines covering various areas of law and allied social sciences. The library also provides access to technology-based learning resources such as Manu Patra and other legal databases. With its reader-friendly environment and modern infrastructure, the library promotes reading habits, academic research, and scientific learning among students. Read more
Legal Aid Cell
The College has a well equipped Legal Aid Cell, which was inaugurated by Dr. R.C. Barpatragohain, Advocate General of Gauhati High Court on the auspicious occasion of Constitution Day i.e. 26th November’ 2018. With the promise of providing “pro-bono” legal advice and litigational assistance to the general public, the cell in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority has adopted two villages- Dhanuhar Basti and Fakira Basti.
